As a responsible gun owner, it can be difficult defending your decision for owning one in the first place. Sure, there’s all sorts of data about how crime rates increase when guns are completely banned, or stories about honorable gun-holding citizens stopping terrible crimes from being committed, but there’s also data that suggests gun owners are more likely to be murdered than non-gun owners.
With most data coming from clearly bias studies (Mother Jones, for instance), it’s hard to sort out what’s real and what’s rubbish. Well, luckily, comedian Jim Jeffries has the perfect argument for you to use on why you should be able to own a gun – I like guns!
Check out the video above. We can’t say we agree with everything he says (or even most of it, for that matter), but we definitely agree with his first point.
As an American, if you want to own a gun, there is nothing stopping you from doing so. So, why give in to arguing and debating with someone who isn’t going to change their mind anyway? In the end, it’s their loss if they get robbed and find themselves wishing they had a way to retaliate, not yours.
What do you think of his other points? Let us know in the comments below.
