The lawyer representing the mother of Jim Carrey’s ex in her wrongful death suit against the actor has submitted evidence which they claim proves the actor not only had STDs but was aware of his situation, and lied to his ex Cathriona White.
Brigid Sweetman said in a statement on Thursday: ‘These documents show that Jim Carrey has lied to the media, the public and the court. Carrey has now been shown for what he is – a dishonest Hollywood celebrity who thinks he can say anything and fool people just because he is famous.’
She then added: ‘I am going to make sure that the world learns the truth about what Jim Carrey has done and the many lies he has told about my daughter, me and our family.’
The tests allegedly show that Carrey, who allegedly took the test under the name of ‘Jose Lopez,’ has Hepatitis A, Herpes I and II, and Chlamydia.
Carrey’s lawyer Martin Singer said in a statement: ‘This is just another desperate attempt by the attorney after Cathriona White’s own family distanced themselves from this sham lawsuit yesterday.
‘These distortions and false statements by the attorney do a disservice to Cathriona’s memory and to the truth. Cat White’s biological mother, Brigid Sweetman acknowledged in writing that she received death threats because people believed she was responsible for Cat’s death.
‘This latest attempt to create a diversion by the attorney from his meritless claims just shows how low he will stoop.’
The STD test allegedly belonging to Carrey was submitted along with previously seen texts between Carrey and White in which he appears to deny that he had any sexually transmitted diseases.
Attorney Michael Avenatti writes in the declaration: ‘Unbeknownst to Ms. White at the time, Carrey underwent a blood test for STDs on January 28, 2013 at the lab Quest Diagnostics under the false name “Jose Lopez.”
‘The results, which were reported to Carrey on or about January 31, 2013, under specimen [redacted], show that Mr. Carrey tested positive for Hepatitis A, HSV (Herpes) I and II, and Chlamydia.
‘A true and correct copy of the test report is being provided to the Court under seal and marked as Exhibit 1.’
A rep for Jim Carrey did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but the actor stated earlier this week he did not give White any STDs.
